The Sexual Violence Prevention Association (SVPA) joined survivors, advocates, and allies across the country for the inaugural Survivors Solidarity March- a day of action, solidarity, and healing.
As a national partner of the Survivors Solidarity March, the SVPA is proud to stand alongside organizations working to ensure survivors are heard, supported, and represented in efforts to create meaningful change. Other national partners include UltraViolet, I Have The Right To, MTMV Community Support Network, and the National Organization for Victim Advocacy.
Omny Miranda Martone, survivor, founder, and CEO of the SVPA, was in attendance and a speaker at the March in DC.
“Survivors have always been louder together. This march comes at a time when survivors are facing attacks on multiple fronts. Rapists, pedophiles, and abusers have control of our government, our economy, and our media. Their continued power depends on our silence. Today, we are showing resistance! We are not just angry, we are organized!” Omny said in their speech.
The first Survivors’ Solidarity March was anchored by the rally at the Capitol with additional marches and events taking place in Austin, Denver, Los Angeles, and other cities across the country.
