Tell Congress to pass The DEFIANCE Act
The DEFIANCE Act will address and prevent nonconsensual deepfake pornography.
Across the country, people are being victimized by nonconsensual deepfake pornography. Over 98% of deepfakes on the internet are explicit. This digital form of sexual violence violates victims’ consent, autonomy, and privacy. Currently, there are no federal laws addressing deepfake pornography. Victims are unable to get justice. This problem is increasing due to the lack of consequences. We worked with victims and Congress to draft the DEFIANCE Act. This legislation will provide a civil right of action for victims to seek justice, thus addressing and preventing nonconsensual deepfake pornography.
