The Sexual Violence Prevention Association (SVPA) urged the House Oversight Committee to hold former Attorney General Pam Bondi accountable for mishandling the Epstein files. The SVPA and UltraViolet provided committee members with questions probing into her failure to deliver the American people with transparency, accountability, or justice.
Bondi was subpoenaed to testify before the House Oversight Committee on Friday, May 29th, 2026. The SVPA and UltraViolet urged committee members to question Bondi’s repeated failures against survivors and the American people.
As the United States Attorney General, Pam Bondi failed to comply with the Epstein Files Transparency Act, thus defying Congress. Under her leadership, the Department of Justice (DOJ) failed to redact survivors’ identifying information, putting them in danger and increasing their trauma. She also failed to acknowledge or meet with the survivors or their lawyers. Throughout her time as head of the DOJ, Bondi failed to bring any of the individuals or institutions named in the Epstein files to justice.
This is part of our ongoing fight for systemic reform and accountability from every individual and institution that enabled, or participated in, Epstein’s abuse. A few weeks ago, Howard Lutnick also appeared before the House Oversight Committee. The SVPA and UltraViolet provided committee members with questions probing into his documented ties to Epstein. We also petitioned for his resignation, mobilizing more than 15,000 people to contact their members of Congress.
Last month, the SVPA joined congressmembers, advocates, and Epstein survivors at a vigil calling for action in honor of Virginia Giuffre, a prominent survivor of Epstein’s sex trafficking network. In November 2025, following months of advocacy that included an SVPA-led letter to Congress and a historic press conference on Capitol Hill, the Epstein Files Transparency Act passed with bipartisan support and was signed into law. This compelled the DOJ to release millions of files, images, flight logs, and other materials from investigations into Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.
“We will continue fighting until every individual and institution named in the Epstein files is held accountable. We will continue fighting until there is institutional reform, government restructuring, and systemic change that prevents these harms from happening again,” Martone said.
“That fight centers around Pam Bondi. She must be held accountable for the harm she has caused. Our government and institutions cannot be led by people who cover up abuse to protect their powerful allies. Firing Bondi is only the first step in the fight for accountability.”
